Committee Support of District Operations
As a part of our policy, the Peoria Park District is supported by standing committees that regularly meet to give direction to our District. The Park Board President and the District’s Executive Director serve on all Committees of the District. All committee members, including trustees, are appointed by the Park Board President to serve.
Park District Committees
Current Park District Committees are as follows (click on the committee title to access meeting information):
Finance Committee: Responsible for review of the annual budget, appropriation ordinance and tax levy for the District. The Committee also reviews all financial affairs of the District and makes recommendations to the Board. The Finance Committee meets monthly from April through October.
Golf Advisory Ad Hoc Committee: Focuses on operations and maintenance of the District’s robust golf system. Comprised mainly of local golfers, the committee reviews service levels, marketing efforts, and policies of the golf system. The Committee meets monthly from April through October.
Joint Operating Committee: Made up of representatives of the District and OSF, this committee provides governance oversight of operations at the RiverPlex Recreation and Wellness Center. Meets quarterly.
Planning Committee: Reviews and recommends planning efforts for District construction projects/ planning related to District facilities and holdings. Meets monthly from April to October.
Recreation Advisory Committee: Provides input on all recreation programming of the District. With meetings set monthly from April to October, the committee reviews existing programs and recommends future action to the Board of Trustees.
