Join us on May 9th, 2026, at Glen Oak Park, and kick-start your summer with a day full of fun, energy, and connection. Celebrated across the globe, Worldwide Day of Play highlights the vital role that play has in early childhood development, bringing communities together to support creativity, curiosity, and lifelong growth. This special day is part of a global movement dedicated to helping children grow, explore, and thrive through meaningful play experiences.
Join us as we transform Glen Oak Park into a playground of endless possibilities, where imagination knows no bounds and fun takes center stage.
Don’t miss this one-day-only event! Whether you’re a seasoned angler or trying fishing for the first time, enjoy a fun and welcoming experience with free gear, helpful volunteers, and a fully stocked lagoon.
9 AM–2 PM is all about the kids (16 & under)! After 2 PM, everyone gets a turn—so stick around and make a day of it!
Get ready for some special guests at PNC Worldwide Day of Play! Come visit Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Costume Character Super Grover from Sesame Street.
Please note, both friends will be availbale throughout the day but they do take breaks. Look for signage times at the event.
The PNC Grow Up Great Mobile Learning Adventure offers children and caregivers the opportunity to dive into fun, educational experiences — whether visiting a learning kiosk, imagining the future, or exploring the difference between a need versus a want. It’s a great way to discover how everyday moments are learning opportunities.
The educational materials within the MLA are appropriate for children from age 2 to age 5.
From Touch-a-Truck to live entertainment, inflatables, food trucks, and more—PNC Worldwide Day of Play is your one-stop spot for nonstop fun! Enjoy a full day of interactive activities, big-time entertainment, and plenty of ways for kids and families to play, explore, and make lasting memories.
For even more fun, check out the Peoria Zoo or Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum, where admission is reduced to $3/person for the day.
