Tennis – Youth
If you have a young tennis player, you will love all of the “ace” youth tennis programs offered by the Peoria Park District!
Our Youth Tennis Program offers lessons by age and skill level:
- Beginner Tennis for ages 4-17: Includes clinics and special programs
- Pee Wee Tennis for ages 4-6: An exciting and fun program that introduces young kids to the basics of tennis. Modified equipment is used to bring the game to the level of the players. All equipment is furnished.
- Red Level – Youth Beginners for ages 6-8: Grips, court rules, serves, basic strokes and lead-up games will be taught to participants with little or not experience.
- Red Level – Youth Beginners for ages 8-11
- Red Level – Youth Beginners for ages 11-17
- Tennis Blitz: Ages 6-17
- Sweney Youth Tennis Program for ages 7-14: Come and learn to play tennis in this exciting program by the Peoria Park District and the family of the late Jack Sweney. The lessons are free to all who want to sign up and include a free t-shirt and equipment for kids who continue to participate.
- White Level – Youth Intermediate for ages 8-17: Students should be able to hit a fairly solid forehand, backhand and know serve basics. Game strategy and drills help players advance.
- Blue Level – Youth Advanced for ages 11-17: Student should have solid strokes and be eager to learn advanced strategy
- Evening & Saturday Lessons
- Pee Wee for ages 4-6
- Red Level – Youth Beginners for ages 6-11

Tennis Facilities
Courts are used on a first-come, first-serve basis with 1 hour limit for singles and 1.5 hour limit for doubles. Players may remain on courts longer if no one is waiting.

Community Partner: Peoria Tennis Association
The Peoria Tennis Association is a community tennis association, offering a year-round schedule of social events, leagues, ladders, and competitive tournaments. The group is interested in providing and expanding opportunities for tennis players.
