While Glen Oak Park does not have permanent soccer fields, seasonally, goals will be brought out in the green space in the middle of the park. When not in use with Happy Feet or other programs, patrons are welcome to use the goals.

Glen Oak Park has designated tennis courts and designated new pickleball courts for year-round use. The new pickleball courts opened in 2022 and feature eight new dedicated courts, located adjacent to the park’s tennis courts. The location also features a shelter and bench between the two sides. The tennis courts are 6 hard courts, 4 of which are lighted.

Court rules:

Courts are to be used for pickleball or tennis only.
No dogs, bicycles, scooters, skateboards or rollerblades are allowed unless specifically authorized by the Peoria Park District.
Play is limited to 1 hour for singles and 1 – 1 &1/2 hours for doubles when others are waiting.
Players may not hold courts when others are waiting.
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
Glass containers are prohibited.
General hours of operation are from sunrise to sunset. Our lighted facilities operate from sunrise to 11pm.
Tennis shoes are required.
All Peoria Park District ordinances apply.

Glen Oak Park is home to the following amenities:

Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum: A hands-on interactive children’s museum. This is an admission-based facility with hours of operation.
Peoria Zoo: A world-class Zoo in the heart of Peoria. This is an admission-based facility with hours of operation.
Luthy Botanical Garden: Spread across over 5 acres in Glen Oak Park, Luthy is home to a tropical conservatory, and themed gardens. While there is no fee to enter, Luthy does have hours of operation.

Glen Oak Amphitheatre: An open-air concert and event space located next to the Lagoon.

Glen Oak Lagoon: This 3 acre pond fed by runoff water has the entire shoreline accessible to anglers with a paved surface.

Fish Species Available – Largemouth bass, bluegill, hybrid sunfish, bullhead catfish, channel catfish and carp. The site is stocked monthly during the urban fishing clinics.

Angler Success – Good, especially following the summer fish stockings. Join us for the Clyde West Fishing Derby held each May.

Peoria Rotary Adventure Grove: A nature-themed play environment that links the Peoria Zoo and Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum. The playground is open during normal park hours of dawn to dusk.

Playground: The fully inclusive playground in Glen Oak Park offers an exciting, accessible space where children of all abilities can play together and explore. With vibrant play structures, sensory-friendly equipment, and interactive elements, it ensures every child can enjoy a day of fun and adventure! This playground opened in September 2024, replacing a 19th century wooden playground that was an iconic play structure in Glen Oak Park.
