Celebrate Founder’s Day at Glen Oak Park!
Join us for a spectacular celebration as we mark 130 years of the Peoria Park District at Glen Oak Park on September 7th from 2-7pm! Most activities are FREE so come check out this milestone event packed with fun and excitement for the whole family! Please note, most drop in activities end at 6pm.
Highlights include:
- Live Entertainment: Enjoy music and performances that will keep you grooving all afternoon including Za Funk, The East Bluff All-Stars, and The Peoria Municipal Band.
- Kids’ Area: A paradise for the little ones with games, activities, and more! Please note, these activities will end at 6pm.
- Lagoon Activities: From fishing to unique water games, this area will be a splash of fun.
- Soda Festival Tasting: Quench your thirst with a variety of unique and delicious sodas. Tasting tickets will be sold for $5/piece, and include 8 soda samples. Tickets will be sold at the event. This activity will go until 6pm.
- Vendors, Food Trucks & Parks on Tap: Explore a diverse selection of food and shopping options and stop for a brew at our Parks on Tap Traveling TapHouse. Food vendors include Palarte, Rumburger’s Wings, and Panaderia Ortiz Bakery.
- New Playground: Be among the first to play on our brand-new playground in Glen Oak Park! Join us at 1:30pm for the ribbon cutting!
- Lanterns in the Lagoon: As the sun sets, marvel at the magical glow of lanterns lighting up the Lagoon. Lanterns will be a $10 donation to support the Peoria Park District Foundation’s Legacy Fund and can be purchased in the soda market. Guests will be able to decorate their lantern any time during the event.
