The Bonnie W. Noble Center for Park District Administration houses the recreation and administration departments and is the main point of registration for Peoria Park District activities. The Noble Center is open Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5pm.

Also located in the building is drop-in fitness classes, select Peoria PlayHouse programming and the African American Hall of Fame!

Yoga: This fitness-based class has an emphasis on poses and breathing, and is appropriate for all ages and fitness levels. Ages 16+. Enjoy this Tuesday and Thursdays from 8:30-9:30am. The cost is $6/class or $30/6 visits pass.

Fun & Fit: This is a low impact cardio class that incorporates strengthening, toning, stretching and resistance exercise with bands, balls and weights. This class is suitable for beginners, experienced, and adults with varying ability and physical limitations. Enjoy this Monday and Friday from 9:30-10:20am. The cost is $6/class or $30/6 visits pass.

Core & More: A stronger core improves the whole body including functionals strength, coordination, and balance. During this 30-minute class exercises are modified to meet the needs of beginners, experienced, and adults with varying ability and physical limitations while still getting a great workout. Enjoy this Monday and Friday from 1030-11am. The cost is $6/class or $30/6 visits pass. – As of 3/11/2024 this program is not being offered due to lack of instructor.

The Real Tool Maker Space at the Noble Center is a larger version of the beloved space at the Children’s Museum. Kids and families learn to use tools, experiment with different types of making, and think creatively in PlayHouse Maker Workshops. This space is available by program users only and requires advanced registration.

PlayHouse Maker Programs are:

Open-ended and process-based. We do not tell children what to make; figuring out what to make is part of the learning process. We are teaching children to identify problems as well as solve them.
Tool-based. We teach children how to use tools safely, and how to select the best tool for the job. This helps children learn that there are a wide range of tools available, and how to use tools to their full advantage.
Rooted in Exploration. Making is a way to identify and address changes children want to see in designed world. This type of making prepares children to become transformers of their community as adults.

Upcoming PlayHouse Events

Coming in 2024, the Noble Center will be home to the African American Hall of Fame. Formerly at Proctor Recreation Center, we’re happy to have this showcased at the Noble Center. This museum features artwork & history exhibits, including artifacts, showcasing achievements by African Americans.
