Bicycle Safety Town is now available for shelter rentals, perfect for birthday parties! Call us for more details!
Bicycles are everywhere. Next to walking, bicycling is the preferred outdoor activity for most Americans. It’s a fun way to enjoy the outdoors and provides exercise, leisure with purpose, convenient transportation, and activities for the entire family to share.
But you do need to obey safety laws when cycling, and that’s where Safety Town comes in. This learning track boasts 3,961 feet of curves, one-way streets, a four-lane divided highway, traffic signals, overpasses, ramps and 79 various traffic signs. It provides a great place for younger riders to learn the rules of the road or a safe arena for older, more experienced riders to have fun.
Please bring your own bikes and wear a properly-fitted and adjusted helmet at all times. There is a covered bleacher seating area, picnic tables, and drinking fountain — plus a brand new family restroom, picnic shelter and toddler playground appropriate for children ages 2-5.
The Safety Town track and grounds are open daily, dawn to dusk, and are free of charge.
PLEASE NOTE: Parking is available ONLY in marked spots in the parking lot. Do not park on the grass.
Sheridan Lumber will allow parking at the building to the north of Bicycle Safety Town ONLY on Saturdays after 1:00 p.m. and on Sundays. If any Safety Town patrons park in that lot during the week or Saturday mornings, Sheridan Lumber can have your vehicle towed.
